Watch: Former Wits law student applies for cleaning job, gets a life-changing surprise instead [video]

If anyone deserves a bit of good luck, it’s former WITS law student Nesia Chido. Unable to find the R53,000 to pay off her university fees, Wits withheld her final results, meaning all her hard work and studying to become a lawyer is in danger of going to waste.

She has made sacrifices at every turn – from having to sleep in the university library, to using wet wipes as her only cosmetic luxury.

Desperate to earn money by any means necessary, Nesia applied for a cleaning position at Cape Town salon Clipin Hair. She didn’t get the job… She got something much, much more meaningful.

Jeanne Pienaar (owner of Clipin) used the interview to offer to help pay off her student loan and has made herself available to take any donations that viewers may wish to contribute.

As it stands, the video has already managed to raise R15,000 for Nesia, with the R53,000 target expected to be reached by the end of the week.
