Eskom Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jan Oberholzer retired at the end of April and was meant to leave the troubled power utility Eskom. However, it has emerged that he will be staying on for a longer period in a new role. Oberholzer confirmed that a contract for his services had been agreed upon with Eskom, according to a News24 report. He is extending his stay with the company to help Eskom through the ongoing load shedding crisis and will reportedly oversee projects that deal with the crisis.
