The South African Weather Service (SAWS) issued a very cold, wet and windy advisory for the Western Cape and Northern Cape on Thursday, 6 July. The chill is associated with yet another cold front expected to pass over the country in the coming days. The weather advisory is valid from midnight on Friday, 7 July, until 23:59 on Sunday, 9 July. “The passing cold front over the Western Cape and Northern Cape is expected from Friday afternoon,” said the weather service. The cold front will bring cold, wet and windy conditions over the southern Namakwa and Western Cape. Mercury is not expected to reach higher than 10C in some places from Saturday to Sunday.
