Most of us had plans to travel during this first quarter, but everything has probably been cancelled due to measures taken by governments and relevant institutions.

However, as we are witnessing a large number of infected people and deaths, countries are taking adequate measures and doing everything they can to put an end to this crisis as soon as possible. Eventually, this too shall pass and once it is over, we will again get back to our previous planned activities and try to compensate for the lost time.

So, while we are quarantined and socially distanced, we are giving you a few destinations to add to your bucket list once we get back to normality.

Seven of the wildest adventures to try

1. Visit the Grand Canyon

When you are in Northern Arizona, don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit the Grand Canyon. You will need all the energy and confidence that you can summon if you are to see this through. The canyon has been named a UNESCO World Heritage site, which tells you just how amazing its landscape is. You will be amazed by the beautiful and inviting brown hues. Your mind will be blown by the exciting yet challenging hiking trails. Just take your time to explore all the adventures that the canyon has to offer.

2. Hot air balloon over Cappadocia, Turkey

Soaring high above the earth is sensational. If you have ever been in a hot air balloon, then you know how awesome the feeling is. However, you haven’t had half of the fun if you haven’t been in a hot air balloon over the rocky peaks of Cappadocia. Soaring above the valleys here gives you the illusion that you are flying in space. Looking down at the chimneys in Cappadocia is more than spectacular. This adventure gets even more exciting when you soar high up in the midst of hundreds of other balloons. The scene is extremely exhilarating and fulfilling even to watch.

3. Take a road trip

This is as simple as getting in your car, either alone or in the company of a friend, and driving. Just hit the road and only stop when you must. You can choose to road trip within your county or to choose a random spot on the globe. Go with the wind and let loose. If you don’t have an idea where to take a road trip, a good recommendation would be Canada’s Cabot Trail. There are lots of things to see and do on the way. You will also meet new people and sample new cuisines.

4. Try a new sport

No matter where you currently live, there’s always a cycling adventure you can get involved in that is straight out of your house. Once you know what kind of bike you need, a regular or an electric bike, pick a route and head off. Check out this article by Redbull on Five of the world’s most epic road cycling adventures.

5. Sleep under the stars

This is arguably the cheapest adventure you will ever get. You can sleep under the stars at your nearest camping site (or even your backyard) and still have lots of fun. However, if you want a more spectacular scene, visit Sweden and sleep under the Northern Lights. The stars in the Northern Hemisphere are unbelievably beautiful, especially on a warm summer’s evening.

6. Hike in China

China isn’t just great for business and tech development. The Asian nation is also home to some of the world’s most thrilling and dangerous hiking trails. A good challenge for you would be Mt. Huashan. Hiking here requires guts and commitment. It is nothing like what you’d consider a normal hiking trail; it is more of a knee-shaking experience. Your balancing skills will be tested to the very limit. The trek is on a 2,000 ft. cliff and the only safety measures to rely on are thin wooden planks to walk on and a steel cable to support your upper body.

7. Surf in Indonesia

Visit Indonesia any time between April and October and hit the waves in one of the country’s 13,000 islands. The surfing industry here is a worldwide phenomenon. You will not find better and more challenging surfing spots anywhere else on the planet.

We are in a new decade now so it is time to tick off the leftover adventures from the last decade and take on new adventures. 2020 is the year to spice up your life and experience things you’ve never thought of before. Have fun.
