Carcassonne

Carcassonne – which was developed and published by Asmodee Digital back in 2017 – is the official adaption of the much-loved eponymous board game.

It is a modern classic tile-placement game based in which the players draw and place a tile with a piece of southern French landscape on it.

The scenes in Carcassonne include a city, a road, a cloister, grassland or some combination thereof, and players connect cities to cities, roads to roads, and so forth. Characters in the game are Meeples.

GameSpot gave it four out of five stars and described it as a “simple, yet effective translation of the German board game” which proves to “an oddly addictive experience”.

“Carcassonne is a solid addition to Live Arcade’s slowly increasing library of board games. It isn’t quite as deep or enthralling as something like Catan, but on the flip side, it’s a much easier game to grasp and still contains plenty of strategic gameplay into which you can sink your teeth.”

Ticket to Ride

Ticket to Ride was developed by Days of Wonder and published by Asmodee Digital back. It’s a multi-party strategy game based on a board game of the same name.

Go on a railway adventure and link cities in the game in order to reach your destination. There are several add-ons available, for the following locations: Europe, UK, France, Pennsylvania and Germany.

“Newcomers should have little trouble getting the hang of things. At the beginning of the game you pick two or three routes that you will try to build; they might be regional ones like Vancouver to Santa Fe, or cross-country routes like Los Angeles to Miami”.
