Countdown to E3 2020 begins: Here’s what to expect

There are less than four months to go to E3 2020 and the excitement is tangible. E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) is one of the biggest gaming expos in the world.

The global games event is scheduled to take place from 9 to 11 June 2020, at the LA Convention Center. It’s where entertainment intersects with technology and the future of the computer and video game industry is revealed.

Thousands of industry professionals from around the world, across all sectors, are expected to convene at the show to see the latest games, try new hardware – and do business.

What is E3 all about?

Cutting-edge tech and games are debuted at E3 every year. In addition, it’s the place where industry trends are identified, be it related to console, PC, mobile, social, or 3D.

The expo also provides networking opportunities where thousands of attendees can connect with a network of interactive industry professionals, peers, influencers and investors; all under one roof.

Exhibitors include Nintendo, Ubisoft, Bethesda, SEGA, Capcom, Square Enix, Take-Two Interactive Software, BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc., Warner Bros. Games, to name a few.

Xbox, Microsoft, Oculus and Nvidia will be there too. Activision, EA, and Geoff Keighley won’t be at E3 2020. And neither will Sony. Again.

Confirmed publishers for E3 2020

Bethesda

Bethesda will host its fifth press conference at E3 2020, despite the criticism it received for the allegedly disastrous Fallout 76. I say allegedly because I actually enjoyed Fallout 76.

But then again, I’m extremely biased when it comes to my favourites. I enjoyed Assassin’s Creed Unity too, despite the game being a hot mess…

Bethesda has two highly anticipated projects to potentially announce. Remember Starfield, which was debuted during E3 2018? Yeah, what’s happening with that? Maybe 2020 is the year we’ll be getting answers.

Then of course, there’s The Elder Scrolls 6, which was also announced at E3 two years ago. Rumour has it Bethesda will also showcase The Elder Scrolls Legends and The Elder Scrolls Blades.

Nintendo

Nintendo hasn’t made any major announces as yet; however, there are a few interesting angles the company could take, once they decide to shed some light on their participation.

However, Nintendo really needs to pull out all the stops if they want to steal any of the limelight away from the upcoming PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X consoles.

But who knows, perhaps Nintendo has a few tricks up its sleeve and will bowl us out of the park.

Square Enix

Square Enix has confirmed their participation in E3 2020. We’re assuming a new trailer or perhaps even a gameplay trailer of Marvel’s Avengers will be introduced.

And with the Final Fantasy 7 Remake coming out in April 2020, the company might have some sort of a content update to release. Other than that, we’ll simply have to wait and see.

Ubisoft

As for Ubisoft, we could probably look forward to more information regarding Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six Quarantine, and Gods and Monsters. Release dates for all three games are scheduled for 2020.

In addition, we can look forward to a sneak peek of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed game. For now, it’s known as AC Ragnarok, but the title has not yet been confirmed.
