After circling around the $10,500 support for most of last week, Bitcoin (BTC) came close to pushing through the $11,000 resistance before dipping back to the $10,200 support. Several major altcoins have also endured minor price losses on the day. Here are your latest cryptocurrency news and prices.

Last Friday saw Bitcoin’s (BTC) price coming very close to pushing through the $11,000 resistance, alluding many to believe a bullish weekend was imminent. The world’s number one cryptocurrency was a few dollars away from crossing over the descending trendline of a massive wedge.

A baffling $1 billion transfer in BTC picked up by Whale Alert had many analysts speculating whether a whale or an institutional investor was transferring funds into Bakkt’s custody service.

Recently, there was a solid rise in ETH price above the $175 resistance area against the US Dollar. However, bitcoin price struggled to gain momentum above the $10,500 resistance area. The recent rise in pushed Ethereum above the $180 level and the 100 hourly simple moving average. Moreover, the price traded close to the $185 level and recently started a short term downside correction.

XRP is sliding towards a massive breakout as technical levels align.

The minding falling wedge pattern breakout could launch the cryptoasset in a trajectory above $3.0.

XRP must clear the descending trendline resistance for a breakout above the critical $0.28 and $0.33 barriers.

Glancing lower, XRP/USD is strongly protected in the zone between $0.24 and $0.2450.

EOS was the best-performing altcoin on September 7, as the coin has gained over 10% of its value in a single day and tested an area above $3.8, which is the highest level since mid-August. At the time of writing, EOS/USD is changing hands at $3.68, 1% higher on a day-on-day basis. Since the beginning of Monday, the coin has lost nearly 3% amid technical correction strengthened by the general sell-off in the cryptocurrency market.
