WWE RAW: Results, video highlights, and broadcast details 25 September 2018

After last week’s atrocious RAW, the red brand are looking to make things right by announcing a slew of matchups ahead of time. We’re expecting some major buildup ahead of the WWE’s show in Australia next week.

A limo arrives to start the show…Baron Corbin waits nervously. And with good reason as the birthday girl Stephanie McMahon steps out. Baron starts to sing to her but stops suddenly as hubby Triple H steps out. The Game says this is awkward and excuses himself. Stephanie gives Corbin the 3rd degree about booking himself in a championship match. She says maybe Kurt Angle will be back sooner than they think. Corbin complains about the Shield so Steph tells him to find two partners and take them on tonight. (I’m betting it’s the AOP)

Speaking of The Shield, they’re making their way to the ring. And the commentators give us the first Super Showdown in Australia plug. Corbin comes out and introduces the Dogs of War.

Drew, Braun and Dolph do some great work on the mic teasing cracks in The Shield and hype up that Dean Ambrose deserves better and doesn’t need the Shield. They invite him to join them. Before they come to blows, Corbin stops them, and says he and his two partners will tag care of The Shield tonight.

Finn Bálor with Bayley vs Jinder Mahal with Alicia Fox and Sunil Singh

Result: Bálor wins via pinfall after Bayley stops Sunil Singh from interfering with a Bayley to belly suplex on the floor. After the match Mahal is about to destroy Sunil, but then finds his inner Shakti to calm down.

The WWE have realized Brie Bella can’t wrestle a believable singles match and have changes her previously scheduled one-on-one clash with Ruby Riott to a 6 person tag team match.

Result: Ruby Riott pins Natalya after a Riott kick.

After the break, all the superstars are on the ramp while Stephanie McMahon and Triple H speak on the WWE’s Paediatric Cancer Awareness campaign. It’s a very long segment which sees some kids get presented with titles belts. A cool moment for them as the crowd chants “You Deserve It!”.

Backstage Dolph Ziggler tries to convince Dean Ambrose to turn on the Shield and join his crew. He pleads a valid case and tells Dean to just give him a sign later on.

Chad Gable with Bobby Roode vs Konnor with Viktor

Result: Konnor with the easy win. A singles match for the second week in a row? Yup the build up for this tag team continues.

WWE RAW Tag Team Championship Match
Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler vs The Revival

Result: Ziggler and McIntyre retain via pinfall after a hot tag team match. The Revival came close to winning on several occasions, and the crow was really into them. Good work by all four guys.

Ladies and gentlemen…Elias.

Elias doesn’t want to perform tonight, but he introduces his new friend, Kevin Owens, and the Kevin Owens Show. They have a desk in the ring and invite Lio Rush to join then. He comes out and shoots his mouth off. Elias tells him not to worry, they have a seat for him. The reveal a booster seat. Hah. Lio tells them to save their jokes for Bobby Lashley because he’s here for his rematch. The hometown hero comes out to a good reaction from the crowd.

Result: Lashley picks up the win via DQ after KO interferes.

Backstage, Seth Rollins is trying some reverse psychology on Drew McIntyre, saying that he is the one being used by Dolph and Braun.

So it seems like nobody is capable of coming to the ring by themselves tonight as we have a women’s division match up next.

Nia Jax with Ember Moon vs Alicia Fox with Alexa Bliss and Mickie James

Result: Nia pins Alicia after fairly short match.

We head to the back again, and this time Drew and Dean are comparing notes trying to out-psyche each other. Drew reminds Dean about that time Seth double-crossed him.

Baron is out and announces his partners…the AOP. Hah too easy. Drake Maverick looks hilarious as he’s dwarfed by the three giants. The Dog of War also come out, armed with chairs. They set them up on the ramp and sit down to watch the match.

The Shield vs Baron Corbin and the Authors of Pain

Result: Roman gets the pin on Corbin after a spear. Really entertaining match here. They play up Dean questioning his loyalty to the Shield after the match, but Dean eventually joins Rollins and Reigns in the ring to do the Shield fist bump. Great storytelling tonight.
