WWE RAW: Results, live stream and video highlights – 1st January 2019

And so the dawning of a new year in the WWE looms on this New Year’s Eve edition of WWE RAW.

There’s a limo that’s arrived for RAW and out comes Triple H and Shane McMahon.

It’s once again pretaped, but we’re kicking things off with the first Steel Cage match in over 8 years.

Dolph Ziggler vs Drew McIntyre

Result: McIntyre wins a good intense match between the two with the Claymore kick and a pin. After the match, Drew gets on the mic and announces himself for the Royal Rumble.

Backstage we get some New Years wishes from random WWE Superstars, before Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring.

Seth speaks about new beginnings,, and he wants to start the night with his rematch against Dean Ambrose for the Intercontinental Title right now. Triple H’s music hits and he comes down to the ring. The boss says it’s a fresh start and RAW and there are no longer automatic rematches. Triple H pushes Seth to bring back the old Seth Rollins that be believed in. Seth counters that he’s been carry the company on his back for the last 12 months.  After some back and forth, Triple H puts Seth in a match against Bobby Lashley. Shane McMahon comes out to calm things between the two. They announce a Fresh Start battle royal for a shot at the IC title.

Fresh Start Battle Royal

Result: Apollo Crews wins the title shot by last eliminating Baron Corbin. He will face Dean Ambrose later tonight.

Backstage we get an interview with Natalya, who announces her entry into the Royal Rumble, it’s not long before she’s beat down by Nia Jaxx and Tamina…poor Nattie, every week someone is beating her up when she’s not ready.

Back in the ring Cobin is complaining until…

Ladies and Gentlemen…Elias.

Elias sings some songs about Corbin being a loser. They brawl. Yawn. Fresh start indeed.

Sasha Banks, Bayley & Ember Moon vs The Riott Squad

Result: Bayley pins Sarah Logan after the Macho Man elbow to pick up the win for her team.

We get a video look at Braun Strowman’s destructive 2018.

Bobby Lashley with Lio Rush vs Seth Rollins

Result: Lashley wins via DQ when Seth snaps and destroys both Bobby and Lio with a chair.

Heath Slater & Rhyno vs Jinder Mahal & The Singh Brothers

Result: Jinder pins Rhyno to pick up the easy win.

Backstage Dean Ambrose address the fresh start, Seth Rollins and Apollo Crews.

Intercontinental Title Match:
Dean Ambrose (c) vs Apollo Crews

Result: Ambrose retains after the dirty deeds DDT.

It’s main event time…

Tamina & Nia Jaxx vs Natalya & Ronda Rousey

Result: Ronda taps out Tamina with the armbar. Great lengthy match here to end the night.

Ronda and Natalya stand tall in victory.
