A little more patience will do.

Kaizer Chiefs fans will have to wait a little longer before the identity of former coach, Steve Komphela’s successor is finally revealed.

The former Bafana Bafana captain vacated one of SA football’s hottest seats in April, following the Soweto giants’ Nedbank Cup semifinal exit at the hands of eventual champions, Free State Stars at Moses Mabhida Stadium – a game which was marred by crowd violence.

Assistant coach, Patrick Mabedi then took over the reigns for the club’s remaining three league fixtures, losing his first game in charge, before winning the other two and cementing the club’s place in third place on the log.

Speculation has been rife over who the next man in charge will be, with Stars’ coach Luc Eymael, touted as the favourite but, according to TimesLivethere is a few more weeks still to go before a new coach is appointed.

“We are working around it‚ but we are doing it properly. We’re not just in a rush,” club chairman, Bobby Motaung told the publication.

“We’re not doing a hasty job. We are doing our work to get a proper man for the job.”

Who will be the next Kaizer Chiefs coach?

Having completed three season without silverware, Amakhosi are right to take their time in appointing their next mentor, and will need an experienced head, as they are looking at a busy season, after qualifying for the CAF Confederations Cup, thanks to their third-place finish.

Nikola Kavazovic

The Serb is currently at the helm of Botswana giants, Township Rollers, and has had a successful season with the outfit – leading them to the CAF Champions League group stages.

However, after strong links with a move to Naturena, he recently rubbished those claims as he told KickOff, that he is yet to be approached by the club.

If trophies is what Chiefs want straight away, they can do far worse than the Stars mentor, who recently displayed what he’s capable off with a stellar season with the much unfancied Bethlehem-based outfit.

Even during Komphela’s tumultuous tenure, the Belgian has been strongly linked with the side, and has been also vocal in his willingness to trade the Free State with Gauteng.

Avram Grant

Perhaps the biggest name linked with the Soweto giants is former Chelsea manager, Avram Grant.

The 63-year-old has emerged as one of the front-runners for the job, and has some experience of coaching in Africa, having been in charge of the Ghanaian national team before heading off to the Indian Super League.
