Following Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, the Red Devils still require six points to make certain of a top-four place in the Premier League.

Erik ten Hag’s side need 72 points to qualify for next season’s Champions League and two more wins from the final three fixtures will guarantee them a spot.

The weekend victory, secured with goals by Anthony Martial and substitute Alejandro Garnacho, was a crucial one, and applies pressure on Liverpool ahead of their trip to Leicester City on Monday.

United need two wins but face tricky teams

The Merseysiders must stretch their winning run to seven matches to close the gap on United back to a point, although the Red Devils will then have a game in hand.

Jurgen Klopp’s men may be strong favourites with the bookmakers to collect all three points but the Foxes are deep in relegation trouble and know a surprise victory would catapult them out of the drop zone.

If Liverpool were to draw, United would be left needing four points to seal a top-four place, while a defeat for the Anfield outfit would reduce that figure to three points.
