When Elena Rybakina won Wimbledon in 2022, she celebrated with such nonchalance that it basically broke the internet.

COLDEST CELEBRATION IN WIMBLEDON HISTORY?

The internet went nuts over Rybakina’s apparent non-celebration, which has become her signature after winning matches. Even matches as big as a grand slam final at SW19. (Ultram) The tears did come in her post-match press conference where she said “you asked me for emotion.”

RYBAKINA, ALCARAZ, TSITSIPAS HEADLINE WIMBLEDON DAY 2

The Kazakh star begins the defence of her crown on centre court against American Shelby Rogers today. 2013 and 2016 men’s champion Andy Murray follows Rybakina on centre when he faces fellow Briton Ryan Peniston. Court 1 will be treated to the scintillating talents of World Number 1 Carlos Alcaraz, fresh off his win at Queen’s, when he faces Frenchman Jérémy Chardy.

In arguably the standout match of the day, Court 2 plays host to 2020 US Open champion Dominic Thiem vs World Number 5 Stefanos Tsitsipas.
