Tennis great Roger Federer is known to be a fan of the Springboks and sent national skipper Siya Kolisi and the rest of the team a message of support during the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

Although born in Switzerland, Federer has strong ties to South Africa as his mother Lynette is from Kempton Park in Gauteng.
Since May 2004, citing his close ties with South Africa, Federer has also been supporting the South Africa-Swiss charity IMBEWU, which helps children better connect to sports as well as social and health awareness.
Siya Kolisi and Roger Federer form friendship
The tennis great is a well-known philanthropist, and in early 2020 Federer featured in the Match in Africa against Rafael Nadal at the Cape Town Stadium.

In a memorable moment before that match, Kolisi came out onto court to present a Springbok jersey to Roger Federer.
The two have now reconnected in Federer’s home country, with one pic showing Siya Kolisi with Federer’s parents.
“Anyone need a tourist guide? I found a Springbok roaming the streets of Zurich, Siya Kolisi. What a pleasure to see you Siya!”
