There is another day of exciting sports action in and outside of South Africa, as the weekend comes to an end.

Latest sports news and fixtures today 

India vs South Africa, first T20 International 

The Proteas have been in India for the best part of the week, and they finally take to the field on Sunday, taking on the host in the first of three T20 Internationals in Dharamsala. Quinton de Kock leads the men in green in what is their first match since the Cricket World Cup. The match starts at 15:30 (SAST).

Cape Town marathon 

The Mother City is abuzz this weekend, with the Cape Town marathon underway. SA’s chances in the men’s field rest on Elroy Grant, who’s back for his third dig, while among the women, Kate Roberts and Marie Rabie will be flying the flag high, alongside the Phalula twins, Lebo and Lebogang.

PSL fixtures 

Black Leopards vs Baroka at Thohoyandou Stadium, Kick-off at 15:00

After an exciting day’s action, the PSL continues again on Sunday with two more fixtures. One of those is the Limpopo Derby in Thohoyandou, were Black Leopards host Baroka. 

Bloemfontein Celtic vs Stellenbosch FC at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium, Kick-off at 15:00

Stellenbosch FC are still in search of their first top-flight victory, and their pursuit takes them to the Free State, where they take on Bloemfontein Celtic.

Absa Premiership

Kaizer Chiefs’ unbeaten run came to an end on Saturday as they suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Polokwane City. The only goal of the match came from the spot, with veteran midfielder Jabulani Maluleke making no mistake.

Earlier another Soweto giant had a change of fortunes, as Orlando Pirates got their first league victory on the fourth attempt, beating Chippa United 2-1 at Orlando Stadium. Striker Tshegofatso Mabasa provided both goals for the hosts in his first start for the club, while the visitors’ goal came via Lerato Lamola.

The day’s other results were both draws, with the Durban Derby between AmaZulu and Golden Arrows ending with a 1-1 scoreline, while Supersport United and Cape Town City dishing up a six-goal thriller later on. Sipho Mbule, Bradley Grobler and Thamsanqa Gabuza netted for the hosts, while the Citizens’ goals came via a brace from Thabo Nodada, with Kermit Erasmus notching up his third for the season.
