COMING SOON: Lionel Messi vs Njabulo Blom in MLS!

OPINION: The choice between Jali and Serero for Kaizer Chiefs is so obvious

When will Messi and Blom meet in MLS action?

The MLS regular season comprises two separate conferences. Currently, Inter Miami are rock-bottom of the Eastern Conference while Blom’s St. Louis City are top of the Western Conference. Each team must play every other side in their conference twice, but they also then play a selection of sides from the other conference.

ICYMI: Did you know Thulani Serero used to ball with the Arsenal captain?

St. Louis City welcome Inter Miami and Mr Messi to Citypark on the 16th of July, with kickoff at 02:30am SA time. That’s five weeks from now, so put it in the calendar. With Messi playing a withdrawn number 10 role and Blom snapping at the heels of any creative player, they should see plenty of one another in that clash.

Messi spurns Barca return and mammoth Saudi offer

After his two-year spell with PSG, 35-year-old Leo Messi weighed up a move to Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia but turned it down. There were rumours that he might be loaned to Barcelona as part of his Inter Miami contract but those seemed to have been wide of the mark. Inter Miami’s offer was particularly attractive because it includes some special incentives. MLS couldn’t offer the same as any of the Saudi clubs, so they offered Messi revenue-sharing deals with Apple and Adidas instead:
