Stellies will now do battle against TS Galaxy when the two sides meet in the final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on 16 December.

Commenting on the upcoming title-deciding clash in 11 days’ time, the 55-year-old Barker dedicated the Cape Winelands club’s achievement to his uncle Clive Barker and the Stellenbosch FC defencer Oshwin Andries, who both passed away in the first half of the year.

“At the beginning of the year we lost one of our soldiers in Oshwin Andries, and I lost my uncle Clive, so I’d like to dedicate getting into the final to both of them,” Stellenbosch boss said during an emotional interview.

“Hopefully we can come back to Durban where I grew up as a youngster and do them and the club proud in two weeks’ time by going all the way to win the final. Getting into the final is one thing, but now the next objective is to win it.”
