Al Riyadh FC have confirmed the signing of former Kaizer Chiefs star Knowledge Musona as the Saudi Arabian league continues to soar.

The Zimbabwean star spent the previous two seasons at Saudi top flight side Al Tai, scoring 14 goals in 54 appearances.

Al Riyadh confirmed the signing on social media.

Chiefs favourite Musona has still got it

The 32-year-old scored eight goals in 29 appearances last term but was keen to move on from Al Tai.

Musona has always been admired in South Africa for his goalscoring abilities.

He scored over 40 goals for Amakhosi during his two stints with Kaizer Chiefs.

Mamelodi Sundowns are bracing themselves for a raid by Saudi clubs that have unlimited resources in the transfer market.

There is plenty of money to throw at the players considering the Public Investment Fund (PIF) now owns 75 percent of Al Nassr, Al Ahli, Al Hilal, and Al Ittihad.

Cristiano Ronaldo is on the books of Al Nassr.

SUNDOWNS TRIO ON THEIR WAY?

Themba “Mshishi” Zwane, Thapelo Morena and Namibian international striker Peter Shalulile.

The number of interested players could rise to five, reports iDiski Times.

It remains to be seen if Sundowns can keep their players given the transfer fees on offer. The other question is whether the Sundowns stars themselves would be able to reject some big salary offers.

These star names could be linking up with Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and even David de Gea.

France striker Karim Benzema sensationally quit Real Madrid to join Al Ittihad.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante looks set to join him. David de Gea is about to be out of contract and will quit Manchester United if they bring in a new goalkeeper with Jordan Pickford and Andre Onana on the wishlist.

ZWANE COULD JOIN THE BIG TIME

Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana has been linked with a £50 million move to the Premier League with Chelsea or Manchester United.

Onana was a player at Ajax when current Manchester United Erik ten Tag was in charge of the Dutch side. Onana is excellent with the ball at his feet and impressed during Inter’s run to the Champions League final.

Ruben Neves has made 253 appearances for Wolves, scoring 30 goals, since arriving in 2017. But the Premier League star is now on the brink of leaving with Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal agreeing a £47 million deal.

The 26-year-old Portuguese midfielder Neves had a year left on his contract.

He said at the end of last season he was ambitious amid interest from Barcelona.

However, Barca have not been able to come up with an acceptable offer and Neves has taken the option of becoming the latest big-name player to join the Saudi league.

Karim Benzema completed a free transfer to Al Ittihad this month and Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is linked with joining him, while Cristiano Ronaldo moved to Al Nassr in December.

Wolves regard it as excellent business at a time where they are trying to generate funds for manager Julen Lopetegui to strengthen his squad.

He helped them win the Championship a year later and then to two consecutive seventh-placed finishes in the Premier League.

The club also reached the Europa League quarter-finals in 2020 – where they were knocked out by Lopetegui’s Sevilla – but have struggled to replicate that success and finished 13th last season having been bottom at Christmas.
