Former Orlando Pirates striker Andries Sebola has applauded his club’s decision to axe first team midfielder Nkanyiso Zungu.

Zungu was loaned out to Richards Bay but made just seven starts for the club.

Sebola believes it was ‘ill-discipline’ that costed Zungu last season and is glad the club acted swiftly to get rid of the 27-year-old midfielder.

Orlando Pirates legend applauds club for axing Zungu

“Nkanyiso Zungu is gone because if you remember when they loaned him to Richards Bay FC he became ill-disciplined.” Sebola told KickOff.

“Lack of discipline killed his Orlando Pirates career. The boy is not disciplined, he drinks too much, he beats up women.

“If you play for teams like Pirates, Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs and you are not disciplined you will lose your job.”

We can’t afford Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns players

“The big problem with players coming across from Sundowns, Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, most of us can’t meet their package,” Matthews told FARPost

“It’s like Andile Jali. Who wouldn’t want to take Andile Jali? You know what I mean, I think every team in the PSL would like to sign Andile Jali.

“But how much do you earn? ‘I can’t afford that’. ‘Can I give you half? No, I can’t take half’. Okay, what can you do? But we’re going to try our best.”
