Why under pressure Ntseki is unhappy as Chiefs coach

There is no doubt that pressure is mounting on Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki who is unhappy with some elements of their game.

Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki explains why he is unhappy with some elements of his team as he also rued their hot and cold start into the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

Ntseki and Chiefs are underfire following their 1-0 defeat at the hands of TS Galaxy on Sunday afternoon in in the DStv Premiership.

The new Chiefs coach, Ntseki had to be escorted by security personnel out of the Mbombela Stadium as the angry fans pelted him with objects.

UNHAPPY COACH NTSEKI LAMENTS HOT AND COLD CHIEFS

After the match, Ntseki admitted that he has had a scrappy start to the new season and that they will go back to the drawing board to rectify their errors.

The Amakhosi fans were unhappy with Ntseki’s decision to keep fielding goalkeeper Brandon Petersen who conceded an own goal against Galaxy.

While they have clinched an MTN8 semi-final spot by beating Cape Town City, Chiefs have lost to Mamelodi Sundowns and also drawn to Chippa United so far.

“It has been an up and down kind of start. It has been both hot and cold,” said Ntseki when asked about the start of his first season as head coach.

“When you go to the last game before this one (the City game), we were very much spot on in terms of our plan and execution.

“I think that today if you look at how we started, we were shaky because we were not on the ball as much as we would like to be.

“But after 15 minutes, you could see us playing a possession game, making more combinations and it was just unfortunate that the few chances we got, mainly in the first half, we could not bury them.”

NTSEKI HAPPY WITH SOME ELEMENTS OF CHIEFS GAME

In addition, The South African reported that the former Bafana Bafana coach is seemingly happy with some of the signings they have recruited.

“We have brought some quality players and the mood in the camp is good. It’s just unfortunate that [we lost because] we’re expecting to get good results out of this,” he said to SuperSport TV, as quoted by iDiski Times.

“But I think in terms of the attitude in the camp it’s very good, the players are looking forward to a good season because we are having a very good mood in the camp.

“Tactically, we are still working on our different formations in terms of the players coming on from the bench, those coming on from the stand, but I think today [Sunday] it leaves us with a very huge assignment in terms of how we prepare going forward.”
