Muhsin Ertugral is saying something very intelligent here. It’s about the difference between Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns.

Former Chiefs coach Ertugral seems to be on the money here. He has sharply explained why Sundowns are doing better than Amakhosi.
KAIZER CHIEFS LACK HIGHER KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
The Glamour Boys exited the Nedbank Cup last 32 last weekend. The result was enforced by a team that is 12th in the lower Motsepe Foundation Championship (MFC). The result also meant that May will mark 10 years without a trophy for Chiefs.
Meanwhile, Sundowns have become stronger than ever with six league titles in a row. One of the major contributors has been the Danish Sporting Director Flemming Berg, according to Ertugral.
“The biggest problem is that the greatest enemy of yourself is always the illusion of knowledge. So, if you think you know it, that’s an illusion, and that’s the enemy for you,” said Ertugral via SABC.
“So in the end, if you don’t know today’s football is changing everyday, and as I went myself to the Turkish national team, it was for me also to adjust to the situation of what is happening.
“So I think you can see with [Mamelodi] Sundowns, they are running away in South African football and [competing] internationally as well – behind the scenes, for me, there are very influential people, I can’t not mention Mr [Flemming] Berg.
“Behind the scenes he is already looking [to the future]. Sporting directors are not the ones grinding the results – that’s the technical part, but sporting directors and people behind the scenes are grinding results for the next 10 years.
“So you need to have… I don’t think that’s what’s being done by Kaizer Jnr or behind the scenes by people who are in the business, but you really need to have expertise who can handle and grind the results for the next 10 years – that’s what’s not happening at Chiefs,” the Turkish-German coach concluded.
