Despite the fact that a previous move to Naturena failed to materialise, Pule Mmodi has apparently sealed a three-year deal with Kaizer Chiefs as he completes a blockbuster move to the Soweto side.

According to recent reports, he has officially agreed to terms with Chiefs, and has already reported for pre-season training on a three-year contract.

Although Mmodi has been sticking it out at Arrows, the club ultimately did not want to stand in his way of making the desired move to Chiefs, and the KZN club officially bid the playmaker farewell on Friday.

“We bid Pule Mmodi farewell and thank him for his services to the club,” a statement read. “Joining us in the 2020/21 season, he was instrumental in 92 League & Cup games up to the end of last season. He scored 16 goals & assisted in many more. We wish him good luck in his future endeavours.”

Chiefs have snapped up their man Mmodi

Links between Chiefs and Mmodi have persisted for the better part of the last year, and it was once thought to be a done deal before things fell through belatedly.

Nevertheless, it was suggested earlier this year that he still harboured hopes of heading to Amakhosi, and it’s expected that Chiefs will unveil him as their latest signing this weekend, or early next week.
