Orlando Pirates face Sundowns in the MTN8 final

The Sea Robbers got the better of Stelenbosch over two legs of the semi-finals to book a date with Sundowns in the final. The two South African giants meet on Saturday 7 October at 18:00 from Moses Mabhida Stadium. Pirates have had numerous DStv Premiership matches postponed and rearranged because of this glitzy cup final. They are, of course, the defending champions.

SONO ENJOYS PIRATES STAR KIMVUIDI

Jomo Sono praised Pirates’ capture of Karim Kimvuidi from relegated Maritzburg United but overall he believes it’s the Glamour Boys who “won the transfer window” this time around.

“With Pirates, the boy they signed from Maritzburg [Karim Kimvuidi] is class, but as you know, foreigners take time to adjust in South Africa, but Castillo didn’t even take time. He just fitted in like a glove. He’s a good player.”

“It happens [that results don’t immediately come]. It takes time to mould a team. Sundowns have been together since last year or two years ago. When they add, it’s one or two. That team has been together for some time. They understand each other….”
