Kaizer Chiefs winger Keagan Dolly says high-flying Golden Arrows “will be thinking we are down and out” when the two sides meet on Saturday.

Kaizer Chiefs vice-captain Keagan Dolly says Saturday’s match against Golden Arrows was a perfect opportunity for the club to bounce back.

Amakhosi were knocked out of the Carling Knockout Cup by AmaZulu on Saturday at the FNB Stadium. The defeat saw Molefi Ntseki fired by the club after only four months at the helm.

Dolly said the team should not dwell on the past but focus on Arrows.

“Obviously we are disappointed from our last game and not qualifying for the next round of the Carling Cup, but I think this is an important weekend for us. We have to come back and not dwell on the past. If we can win this weekend we can change our mindset and start winning,” Dolly was quoted on kaizerchoefs.com.

Chiefs will face Abafana Bes’thende in Hammarsdale and it will be the club’s first match since the departure of Molefi Ntseki.

Dolly is determined to make a positive fresh start under newly installed interim coach, Cavin Johnson.

“It has been a tough week for the Club. For us as players, we have to do our job, which is to win, to get results for the Club, and for ourselves to build confidence for the rest of the season. I feel there is still a long way to go, and that’s why I think this weekend is very important because a win can give us momentum for the remainder of the season.”

Arrows have begun the season in good form and currently occupy second spot on the DStv Premiership standings but Dolly believes this is a perfect time for the team to bounce back.

“They are confident at the moment. I’m sure they will be thinking we are down and out going into this game but I feel it is for us to show them that we are Kaizer Chiefs and prove to them what we are made of. We will go there with the mindset of getting nothing less than the three points, and I believe we have the capability to do that,” he says.

“However, we will not underestimate them, we know we will have to work hard, but we are prepared to do what it takes,” Dolly said.
