Kaizer Chiefs striker Ashley du Preez wasted a golden chance to bring his side level in the MTN 8 semi-final first leg against Amazulu.

Du Preez was put through on goal by a tidy ball from Kgaogelo Sekgota but hit his first shot straight at the keeper before getting another bite at the cherry.

However, Du Preez couldn’t keep his second shot down and Amazulu retained their 1-0 lead for a while ate least.

Earlier Amazulu had hit the front when a former Orlando Pirates striker returned to Soweto to haunt Amakhosi.

Gababinho Mhango netted in the 13th minute with a strike that not only gave them a lead but also ensured they have banked an away goal.

It was a speculative diagonal ball which Mhango did excellently to bring down sweeping it into his path and allowing him to apply a clinical left-footed strike.

Amazulu went into the break in the lead but the second half would bring major changes after Veluyeke Zulu received his marching orders just a few minutes before Keagan Dolly finally found the equaliser for the Glamour Boys in the 61st minute.

Dolly produced a far more decisive touch than du Preez to level matters. His left-footed rocket gave Veli Mothwa no chance.
