Thanks but no thanks

Amakhosi’s first-choice left-back alternatives are not available. Fawaaz Basadien was a primary target but the Stellies man has recently signed a new deal with the Winelands club. Meanwhile, Mohamed Hussein has more enticing offers on his plate.

“Tanzanian Mohamed Hussein has offers from Europe and his club Simba SC prefers Europe to Chiefs. Basadien of Stellenbosch FC had signed a new contract with the club which means he won’t come cheap considering teams like Mamelodi Sundowns are also interested in him,” he added.

Hlanti handed a Kaizer Chiefs lifeline

Veteran full-back Sifiso Hlanti was widely expected to leave Naturena at the end of the season. Consistent reports suggested the club weren’t willing to hand the 33-year-old a new deal with his current contract expiring in June 2024. However, developments in the transfer market have changed their stance.

“That’s why the club is set to offer another one year to Hlanti so that they are safe in that department. It’s not a done deal yet but a deal is on the cards and it could happen before the end of the season,” the insider stated on SoccerLaduma.
