Two confirmed player exits from Chiefs – report

Even though the season has yet to come to an end, a decision has been made about at least two players in line for an exit from Kaizer Chiefs.

With Chiefs having endured another inconsistent season, there is no doubt that there are going to be several comings-and-goings in the Amakhosi squad.

There are several players who are expected to be deemed surplus to requirements, and according to Soccer Laduma, Sabelo Radebe is one of those set for an exit.

The academy development talent is still regarded as a future star, and so this is expected to be just a loan move, perhaps primarily to ensure he gets game-time elsewhere. However, it is disappointing that the 23-year-old hasn’t been able to step up sooner in the senior team.

Meanwhile, a more permanent departure is set to Austin Dube, who has received hardly any game-time this season, and is now expected to bring his two year stay at Naturena to an end.

Recent reports have also suggested that Khama Billiat is in his final chapter with Chiefs. It could bring an end to his five-year stint at Naturena, which has largely failed to live up to its hype since his move from Mamelodi Sundowns.

However, in the latest issue of Soccer Laduma, it’s now notably reported that there is a certain “condition for Billiat’s possible stay at Chiefs”.

According to the report, this drastic condition would require the playmaker to take a whopping 50% pay cut. The publication suggests that he is currently one of the club’s highest paid players on a reported salary of over R500 000 per month.

Coach Arthur Zwane is apparently keen for Billiat remain at the club, but it remains to be seen how negotiations progress, and whether he would accept a pay cut if that is the condition in question.
