The Buccaneers are deep in the race for CAF Champions League football next season but will know a victory is a must today.

TS Galaxy on the other hand are not safe from relegation just yet. Saed Ramovic’s side sit in 12th position, five points above the relegation zone.

Orlando Pirates star misses out again

The Buccaneers confirmed on Sunday morning that star man Thembinkosi Lorch is being closely monitored ahead of this afternoon’s clash.

Lorch was due to prove his fitness for his side’s clash against TS Galaxy however he was nowhere to be seen in their match day squad.

The diminutive winger misses his second match due to a hip injury. Jose Riveiro will be desperate for a Lorch return next weekend when his side faces rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals.

“We played a good game against SuperSport but we only scored one penalty after 70 minutes.” the Orlando Pirates coach told SowetanLive.

“We played against Maritzburg and suddenly [Monnapule] Saleng shoots from nowhere and the ball is in the net.

“It’s a complicated game and you have to control a lot of things to get a result. But I’m not frustrated because I know how much it takes.

“Orlando Pirates have to work a lot to create one chance and to make sure that chance is not going to result in a transition immediately after we have it.

“I think that’s one of the keys in this moment for us, probably the main change in the second part of the season.

“No we have the capacity to play more in the half of the opponent and you do that your probabilities to score increase.”
