Speaking to Thabiso Mosia on Radio 2000’s Game On on Tuesday, Hunt revealed that Maseko’s move to Sundowns made financial sense to the club given their troubles.

What Hunt was suggesting is that Sundowns paid a transfer fee in the region of R15 million or more to acquire Maseko’s services from SuperSport United.

SuperSport United were reportedly looking for nothing below R20 million for Maseko, but getting R15 million for him made financial sense.

The DStv Premiership, played over 30 games all-season long, presents the ultimate winner with R15 million, and should Hunt dethrone Sundowns, then SuperSport United would have made double the money.

Hunt further revealed that Maseko will be financially stable for the rest of his life now that he’s joined Sundowns.

In an effort to sweeten the deal, Sundowns allowed Grant Magerman to join SuperSport United on a permanent deal while Etiosa Ighodaro moved on a season-long loan deal.
