It is no secret that midfield acquisitions are very high on the priority of SuperSport, just judging from the players they have been linked with regularly. Besides Nange and Alexander, they have also been credited with a concrete interest in a midfielder from the black and white side of Soweto. That being Orlando Pirates star, Ben Motshwari

Motshwari’s deal might be an easier one for SuperSport to wrap up seeing as though the player is set to be a free agent. With regards to Nange and Alexander, the veteran duo are believed to still have one year left on their respective deals at Chiefs. But what is interesting about the players of interest to Matsatsantsa a Pitori is the fact that these are all ex-Bidvest Wits players. The obvious connection to Wits at the club is coach Gavin Hunt, who looks to be on a mission to re-establish the band, having revived the career of his former captain Thulani Hlatshwayo as well last season.

According Soccer-Laduma, after Nange and Motshwari, Alexander is his next target.

SuperSport interested in Alexander

“Cole Alexander who saw very little game time in the 2022/23 season is a player that has made it on to Hunt’s radar the Siya crew has been informed. The 33-year-old made just seven appearances in all competitions under Arthur Zwane last season. Having signed a three-year contract with Chiefs in 2021, Alexander still has one year left on his deal with Chiefs which expires in June 2024. However, with his situation at the club unlikely to improve, a move away could be on the cards for the experienced midfielder, although the likelihood that a move to SuperSport or any other club would have to come with a pay cut is high, with Alexander understood to be on a high package at Chiefs.” Wrote the publication.
