SuperSport United have signed Siyanda Xulu on a two-year deal and is expected to partner with Thulani Hlatshwayo at centre back

SuperSport United have announce the signature of Bafana Bafana international defender Siyanda Xulu on a two-year deal with an option to renew.
Xulu was linked with a move to Orlando Pirates in 2020 but he was snapped up by Hapoel on a free transfer. A few weeks ago, reports liked the former Maritzburg United to the Buccaneers.

Xulu’s last spell was with Turan-T IK of Azerbaijan where he played 25 matches in last season’s campaign.
The 31-year old has been a favourite under Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, playing over 25 caps for the national team.
SuperSport United Head coach Gavin Hunt said Xulu would bring a lot of experience to the team.
“I think he is someone who can fit in well in the club. He has a lot of experience. He wants to do it and I have known him for a very long time. He can also help with the younger players that we’ve got.

“With Tyson and the other guys, we can try form a very good combination. He’s a big signing for us and I’m happy that he’s here. Football wise he’s a good player. He is tough, quick and a great defender. Good character as well, which is needed in that position. He’s number one in Bafana, which is a great signing for the club.”
Siyanda Xulu was excited to join SuperSport.
“I am feeling very grateful. It’s another opportunity to play at home, which is something that I needed now. When you get to this age, the one thing you need the most is stability. SuperSport United gave me what I needed at the right time. I’m very excited for the new journey, It’s not only about me, but also all about the team.
