Sundowns top boss sends special message to Komphela

Steve Komphela is back in the hot-seat after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns to join Swallows FC as their new head coach.

Komphela spent the last three seasons at the Brazilians after joining them from Golden Arrows in 2020.

Mamelodi Sundowns boss Tlhopie Motsepe has since wishes the well spoken and traveled Komphela well ahead of his new journey.

The former Kaizer Chiefs coach’s decision to return to a head-coaching position will be warmly received by Swallows, who have indeed scored an expert in the field.

In other news, Former Mamelodi Sundowns man Luís Miquissone is reportedly pushing for a permanent Al Ahly exit.

The Mozambican winger, currently on the books of Al Ahly, was sent out on loan to Saudi Arabia’s Abha FC.

Miquissone made just four appearances for Abha before abruptly leaving the club before season concluded.

The latest reports suggest the former Simba attacker is not keen on returning to Al Ahly, or being loaned out for the remainder of his contract which ends in June 2024.

“The 27-year-old has been training with his former club UD Songo for the past two months and is now due to head back to Egypt for talks on the way forward.” a Kick-Off report read regarding the former Mamelodi Sundowns man.

KickOff can disclose that while his former club Simba are interested the intention is to continue in the Middle East with one Saudi second-tier league club keen to bring him on board.

“Miquissone still has a running contract with Al Ahly and is not keen on another loan move as he prefers a permanent switch if the Egyptians have no intention to retain him.”
