ICYMI: Best players to represent Kaizer Chiefs AND Orlando Pirates

Sundowns keen to pounce for Pule

Vincent Pule has been on the fringes at Orlando Pirates, but that hasn’t stopped champions Sundowns from taking an interest in the talented wide attacker. According to SoccerLaduma, the Brazilians are ready to launch a bid for the 31-year-old star born in QwaQwa.

Pule has made just 20 appearances in the last two DStv Premiership seasons combined. You have to go back to 2018-19 for his best goal-scoring campaign, with nine strikes from 26 league appearances. It’s believed that Sundowns would see Pule as a good rotation option rather than a regular first-team starter, which makes sense given his checkered injury record in recent campaigns. Pule also has a title-winning pedigree, having lifted the league crown with Wits in 2016-17.

Orlando Pirates have seven stars away on international duty

Bafana Bafana quintet Thabiso Monyane, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Innocent Maela, Monnapule Saleng and Zakhele Lepasa will face DR Congo after a 0-0 draw with Namibia, a team including Bucs star Deon Hotto. He recently scored the late winner against Stellenbosch in an MTN8 semi-final first-leg match. Meanwhile, Richard Ofori is with Ghana.
