Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos believes the Mamelodi Sundowns duo of Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau are ready to play overseas.

The two stars played a huge role in helping Bafana finish third in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations. Mokoena, in particular, scored two goals in the tournament and was included in the team of the tournament. Since then, the 27-year-old midfield maestro has been linked to several teams in Europe.

Hugo Broos said he’ll be happy to see Sundowns star Teboho Mokoena playing overseas.

“Maybe in Sundowns, they will not be happy now, but I hope Mokoena can make the steps because he’s ready for it,” he told the media.

“Sometimes I say, what’s this one going to do in Europe? But Teboho is ready to do it. And maybe some other players also.

“After Afcon, Khuliso is also ready to do it. It should be good for Bafana Bafana players to play in competitions that are high-level than the PSL,” added the Belgian.

“They will become better players, and you will see in other countries like the opponents they take on next week, where they are playing? Italy, France, England and all the big leagues. And you see what kind of players they are.”

Although Broos has given Sundowns players the green light to play overseas, he urged Relebohile Mofokeng to stay. The 19-year-old attacker has been in fine form for Orlando Pirates helping them to win two trophies. He is a favourite to take home the Young Player of the Season award.
