Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are believed to be going head to head for a number of transfer targets.

Chiefs and Pirates are both known for wanting to boost their respective squads with the best quality available.

It is believed that, this time around it will be no different between the two Soweto giants. This, of course, will inevitably see them clash for certain targets. According to reports they’re already clashing for Stanley Nwabali, Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Riaan Hanamub and Shaune Mogaila. That does not seem to be where the list ends, however, with a new name set to be part of the tug-of-war.

Chiefs or Pirates deal rejected for Singh

In fact, just three weeks ago this publication reported that Chiefs had joined Pirates in the race for Freddy Kouablan. That just proves that both clubs are looking to strengthen their forward lines ahead of next season. Now according to iDiski Times one of the two have shown interest in forgotten Bafana Bafana forward Luther Singh. It is also thought that either club would be facing some serious competition for his services.

It was already previously reported by this publication that either Chiefs or Pirates had made an offer. Now if the latest from Singh’s agent is to be believed, that offer has been rejected.

Still a chance?

“We received offers from Egypt, Morocco, Scotland, Sweden, and Major League Soccer. One Soweto club also enquired. The reason we haven’t made the decision is that the offers are not favorable for the player (Singh), we still want to wait a bit. He still wants to play abroad, but if the right deal locally comes, he will take it. The aim is to get back to the national team.” Said the agent Warren Swartz to the same publication.

If the offer from either Chiefs or Pirates was good enough, Singh would’ve been edging closer to a return. However, the fat that Swartz says none of the offers right now are good enough, means that offer has been rejected. He has given hope though that if a good local offer comes, he could still sign.
