Orlando Pirates have reached an agreement with Maritzburg star Karim Kimvuidi, reportedly beating Kaizer Chiefs to his coveted signature.

Buccaneers bag another big fish

There were whispers earlier this week that MLS outfit DC United, under the tutelage of Wayne Rooney, were keen on Kimvuidi. Kaizer Chiefs were also big admirers. However, the 21-year-old Congolese star is staying put in South Africa and becoming a Buccaneer.

Orlando Pirates shopping spree continues

The MTN8 and Nedbank Cup winners from last season have now added seven players to their first team squad. Melusi Buthelezi, Siphelo Baloni, Katlego Otladisa, Patrick Maswanganyi, Sphamandla Gumede and Lesedi Kapinga are all Buccaneers. Kapinga in particular is a coup because of the demand over his signature and Otladisa could also prove to be a shrewd addition in wide areas. Kimvuidi now adds depth in the number 10 position alongside Kabelo Dlamini.
