Orlando Pirates star stepping up to the plate

Lebo Mothiba has already been replaced by in-form Buccaneers forward Evidence Makgopa in the Bafana Bafana setup. Makgopa, as you know by now, scored the only goal in Pirates’ recent Soweto Derby win against Kaizer Chiefs. At just 23, there’s still plenty more to come from the man born in GaMampane. With burly Strasbourg striker Mothiba out of the frame for now, Makgopa has a real chance to stake a claim as his direct replacement. Makgopa has two goals from seven PSL appearances this term and a goal from his solitary CAF Champions League outing.
