AmaZulu FC chairperson Sandile Zungu has made a promise to the club’s fans after they appointed Romain Folz as their new head coach.

The 32-year-old coach resigned as Marumo Gallants mentor at the beginning of September as he felt the management was interfering with his work.

Folz comes in as a successor to Brandon Truter who parted ways with the club on Thursday last week after a dramatic late defeat to Richards Bay FC the day before.
Folz will be assisted by Ayanda Dlamini.
And his era will begin with a tough task against Orlando Pirates in the DStv Premiership at Orlando Stadium on Friday, 14 October 2022.

Kick-off will be at 19:30.
Following the appointment of the French coach, Zungu promised Usuthu fans that the club is aiming to compete for trophies both domestically and continentally.

“I repeat my personal promise to our fans that I will do everything in my power to bring back the glory days at AmaZulu,” Sandile Zungu said in a statement.
“We are championship material, there is no doubt about that. We can and will challenge for trophies both domestically and continentally.
“As the oldest club in the DStv Premiership, Usuthu is a heritage of South African football and therefore we must self-correct expeditiously whenever we hit snags.”
