Royal AM boss MaMkhize rules out John Maduka’s return

Royal AM boss Shauwn ‘MaMkhize’ Mkhize has ruled out the possibility of re-hiring John Maduka as her team’s head coach.

Maduka left Royal AM in what was a shocking decision at the end of last season, especially because he had just guided them to a third-place finish.

The 52-year-old would then move to Maritzburg United but he did not last as he was sacked following a series of poor results.

According to a source known to Daily Sun, while Maduka is still weighing up his options, he is very much interested in returning to Royal AM.

Royal AM are struggling to replicate the same form that made them popular last season so much so that they even reshuffled their technical team.

“John is at this stage still considering his options, but he is very much interested in returning to Royal AM. Once he is ready, he will be put in charge. Remember, John left while MaMkhize was away on holiday, and he didn’t leave on a bad note,” said the source.

Meanwhile, contacted for comment, MaMkhize dismissed the report, saying Maduka is not going back to Royal AM.

“It’s not true that Maduka is coming back to the club,” said MaMkhize to the same publication.
