Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro says he is pleased with his team following their 1-0 victory over Polokwane City on Saturday.

Evidence Makgopa’s goal was the difference at the Peter Mokaba Stadium helping the Buccaneers to their first league win of the year.

Riveiro said his side played better in the second half after a slow start to the game.

“Difficult one like I told you before the match,” said Riveiro as per KickOff.

“They managed to reduce the tempo in the first half. It was a slow game even in the beginning of the second half, delays, it was difficult to find continuity in our game.

“But I think we did good enough in the first-half,” added Riveiro.

After three winless league games, Pirates are back to winning ways and that should give the players a boost ahead of the Soweto Derby match against Kaizer Chiefs.

Riveiro knows his side are far from being perfect having missed a few good chances against Rise and Shine.

“Clear chances to get the lead early but when you don’t do it it’s always difficult to deal with those tricky moments of the game that you don’t want to make a mistake and be far to get the three points,” he said.
