MOKWENA PROMOTES YOUNGSTERS AFTER SIPHO MBULE AND ANDILE JALI’S TROUBLES

As The South African reported last Thursday, the Sundowns duo of Jali (32) and Mbule (24) reportedly arrived at training under the influence of alcohol.

According to TimesLIVE, the duo’s transgressions happened on two separate occasions: Jali during the week before, while Mbule’s episode took place last week.

Additionally, Jali has missed four consecutive camps, while Mbule was back when Sundowns visited Stellenbosch FC last Sunday.

With Jali missing from the bench, coach Mokwena has handed debuts to three midfielders from the academy in the past week.

The first was the 20-year-old Thando Buthelezi in Bloemfontein against Marumo Gallants last Thursday before we later met Ntando Nkosi (18) and Siyanda Nyanga (21) against Stellenbosch FC on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the DStv Premiership champions and 2016 African Champions League winners are preparing to host Ahly in a group B game at the Loftus Versfeld on Saturday at 15:00.

Sundowns are currently placed second with two points behind leaders Al-Hilal and a game in hand, while Ahly sits third with three points behind the South Africans.
