Kaizer Chiefs will appoint a new head coach during the pre-season of 2024-25. This announcement comes in the week of building up to the club’s massive clash with Orlando Pirates.

Kaizer Chiefs will appoint a new manager soon

“It won’t be easy but they are doing their best right now to fight for the best candidate for the job from the five who have been shortlisted. They are all good but they are looking at someone who will understand Chiefs’ culture and customs and also the playing philosophy. But it’s as good as done that by the start of preseason, the new coach will be announced.” said the source.

Chiefs keen on Appollis, competition from Orlando Pirates?

22-year-old Polokwane winger Oswin Appollis didn’t feature much for Bafana at Afcon, but his mere presence at the tournament is indicative of his sharp rise in the game. Soweto rivals Chiefs and Pirates can see his potential and might find ‘Rise and Shine’ receptive to a sale.

“Pirates and Chiefs are interested in Appollis. And the good thing for them, or any other interested club, is that Polokwane City is open to selling. The club won’t stand in the player’s way and for them, it will be a matter of cashing in. This applies to any player that they were taking a chance on when signing. Appollis is a talented youngster with a lot of potential, but at the time of his signing, he needed a fresh start. He needed that in the big league, and Polokwane City was willing to offer him that opportunity. He has done well, and the club won’t stand in his way if there is an opportunity for him to grow further,” said the source to Soccer-Laduma.
