Relegated Black Leopards to put highest earners up for sale

Relegated Black Leopards are reportedly preparing to shed some of their highest earners as their begin life in the second tier of South African football.

Lidoda Duvha have been relegated to the GladAfrica Championship in 2021/22 after picking up just five victories in their 29 DStv Premiership matches to date.

According to sources close to the Limpopo-based side Ovidy Karuru and Edwin Gyimah are the two highest profile players expected to pack their bags at the end of the season.

“The club is cutting their budget and more players are going out. They are going to promote some few players in their MDC team as they prepare life in the GladAfrica Championship league,” a source reportedly told Kickoff.

“Ovidy Karuru and Edwin Gyimah are some of [the] players set for [the] exit door.”

Black Leopards will look to end their season on a high when they welcome Bloemfontein Celtic to their Thohoyandou Stadium on Saturday, 5 June.

Kick-off is at 15:00.
