Notably, next up, Chiefs will take on third-placed SuperSport United this Saturday – and a win away from home could reignite hopes of finishing in the top three in the DStv Premiership.

After that encounter, the Soweto giants will then take on fifth-place Cape Town City in another challenging encounter. So if the Glamour Boys were able to finish the season with two wins over top opposition, it would at least represent a bright finish to this season.

Pirates fans will watch that clash with at least one eye, with the rest of their focus on how their team performs in a Nedbank Cup final precursor as they get set to take on Sekhukhune on Saturday.

They will then conclude their season with what they would expect to be a victory over 11th-placed AmaZulu.

Meanwhile, SuperSport will be desperate to beat Chiefs this weekend to keep the pressure on Pirates for second place, before finishing their league season against Sekhukhune.
