According to some recent reports, Pule Mmodi has still had his heart set on leaving Golden Arrows to join Kaizer Chiefs sooner rather than later.

Although Mmodi has been sticking it out at Arrows, the club apparently would not stand in his way if he wanted to make an exit, especially considering his contract at Abafana Bes’thende will come to an end in June 2023.

There were even rumours that he may have signed a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs, but all of this seemed to be premature. However, it’s now reported by popular online source Unplayable that there has been another major twist to the tale, and he will in fact join Chiefs in the near future.

Is Mmodi finally set to join Chiefs?

Links between Chiefs and Mmodi have persisted for the better part of the last year, and it was once thought to be a done deal before things fell through belatedly.

Nevertheless, it was suggested earlier this year that he still harboured hopes of heading to Amakhosi.

“His mind is made up, he wants to go to Chiefs,” said a Phakaaathi source. “What I am not sure about is the pre-contract that he apparently signed. I really don’t know anything about that, but what I can tell you is that his stay with Arrows is over, his contract with the club is ending once the season is over.”

Last year, Mmodi opened up on his emotions after the Amakhosi move didn’t materialise.

“I was never disturbed. Since the move didn’t happen, I told myself that I will work hard and there’s nothing I can do,” Mmodi said. “But initially I was down, but there was nothing I could do.”
