The South African understands that PSL returnees Polokwane City are accused of exploiting its players and technical staff team members.

Sunday World reports that City have given its players blank contracts with no monetary figures while some staff members work on verbal contracts.

According to the publication, the Limpopo-based PSL returnees, Rise and Shine are now set to be probed by the South African Football Players Union.

This information is leaked to the media by some of the players as the club is also accused of not allowing players to negotiate through their agents.

Moreover, some of the players are reportedly on the same salaries they were earning in the Motsepe Foundation Championship last season.

SAFPU has also confirmed receiving several complaints from the players and technical staff members, saying it was attending to the matter.

“Our secretary general Nhlanhla Shabalala is handling this matter. We have requested a meeting with Polokwane City and we want to address the issue with them,” said SAFPU president Thulaganyo Gaoshubelwe.

“Players need to be vigilant and not sign contracts that do not have figures. They are within their rights to demand a copy of their contracts.

“They also should not be stopped from having agents or representation, it is their constitutional right.

“We will make a follow-up on this issue. It is our responsibility to serve and to protect the players.”

The South African understands that a Sunday World informer revealed all the details, indicating that some players and coaches operate on verbal contracts with nothing on paper.

MAKOLA: PSL RETURNEES GAVE ME CONTRACT WITH NO FIGURES

This publication recently reported that former Orlando Pirates midfielder, Makola said he was offered a contract with no monetary figures.

Makola said he was willing to meet the chairman, Johnny Mogaladi but it never happened.

“I was given the contract as per the promise, but the contract had no figures in it. I said I wouldn’t sign when don’t know how much I will be earning,” he said on Metro FM.

“So I was looking forward to being back in the DStv Premiership. I’m not bitter, but I’m just disappointed that the chairman didn’t give me a chance to speak to him.”
