The penultimate round of PSL fixtures in the 2018/19 season takes centre stage on Saturday, with all of the weekend’s action taking place simultaneously.

All 16 teams have played 28 matches thus far, and all but two will be slugging it out on Saturday, with Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows only catching up on Tuesday, 7 May.

This is due to the defending champions shifting their attention to the Caf Champions League before resuming league duties, where they are tied at the top of the log with Orlando Pirates, who have a superior goal-difference.

The pick of the weekend’s fixtures involves the Buccaneers, who’s chances of a first league title in seven years could rest on how they fare in Athlone against Cape Town City.

Another clash that will draw a great deal of interest is in Milpark Stadium between the title-chasing Bidvest Wits and Baroka – a side needing maximum points to guarantee themselves a spot in the top flight next season.

Across town at FNB Stadium, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs are in action against another outfit desperate to stay afloat, as they host Free State Stars.

For Maritzburg United, their fate could be sealed should they lose to Supersport United, depending on how Chippa United and Black Leopards fare in their fixtures against Polokwane City and AmaZulu respectively.
