PSL releases SEVEN key dates for the 2022-23 season!

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has released SEVEN dates it deemed key for the 2022-23 season which gets underway in August.

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has released SEVEN dates it deemed key for the 2022-23 season which gets underway in August.

In a short statement released on Wednesday, the league confirmed that the start of the new DStv Premiership campaign will commence on the weekend of 5 August.

The league season will conclude on 20 May 2023 while the Nedbank Cup final which is the final match of the domestic season will be played seven days later.

The MTN8, which has often been played before the league starts, will get underway on the weekend of 12 August but the PSL hasn’t decided the date for the tournament’s final.

With the FIFA World Cup finals penciled for November and December 2022, the league said the final matches of the year will be played on the weekend of 4 November.

The official date for teams to release their players for the World Cup is set for 14 November – a number of foreign international such as Richard Ofori and Kwame Peprah could be on the plane to Qatar with Ghana.

Meanwhile, the Motsepe Foundation Championship will kick off on the weekend of 2 September, almost a month after the start of the DStv Premiership season.
