Pitso to Kaizer Chiefs? Junior Khanye responds

Junior Khanye is never far away from the Kaizer Chiefs rumours, and the same can be said for Pitso Mosimane.

Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye has responded to the latest rumours linking Pitso Mosimane with the top job at Naturena.

Khanye fancies Pitso to Kaizer Chiefs

59-year-old Pitso Mosimane is currently at the helm of United Arab Emirates outfit Al Wahda but rumours linking him to Kaizer Chiefs are never miles away.

He previously denied that there hasn’t been any official approach from the club, but has always expressed his interest in “the right project”.

‘Jingles’ has won 19 trophies throughout his storied career, while Chiefs have infamously gone eight years without silverware. They failed to win the MTN8 and were eliminated from the Carling Knockout Cup this season, spelling the end for Molefi Ntseki after just 114 days in charge.

Cavin Johnson is in charge on an interim basis and Khanye believes he and Pitso would work well together after Johnson was Jingles’ assistant at Al Ahly.

Khanye is a fan of both Cavin and Pitso

“Pitso, I believe, was also the right person,” he told iDiski Times.

“Between Cavin and Pitso, I need to be honest, I love both of them. Pitso is one of the best in the country.

“Honestly, I would love to see Cavin working with Pitso as well [again]. Because of the mess there, I know Pitso doesn’t take nonsense. The mess there, they need an arrogant person but who knows his story.

“So Cavin and Pitso, the knowledge and the arrogance were going to help the team.

“But they did a great thing in appointing Cavin, they must be patient. I don’t understand why they made him interim coach. They were supposed to give Cavin Johnson three years.

“I mean, they gave him Molefi Ntseki without any experience, without any knowledge of Kaizer Chiefs three years. Zwane, an inexperienced coach who didn’t coach anywhere near the professional set-up, [they gave him] three years.

“And then why are they making this coach an interim? The one with experience, who’s been in the setup of development in South Africa and also at different PSL teams.”
