That group is already forming part of the pre-season preparations, with Pirates having completed some nifty business in securing the signatures of these players.

Yet, it doesn’t mean Pirates aren’t still on the hunt for more signings, and this week it was confirmed that Sphamandla Gumede – from ABC Motsepe League club Dondol Stars – had come onto the club’s radar, and he is now also set to make a move to the Soweto giants.

Another signing for Pirates

The Buccaneers have now also swooped in to secure the services of Lesedi Kapinga ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The 28-year-old attacking midfielder, who recently played for Bafana Bafana in the COSAFA Cup, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal.

“I am pleased to join the club,” said Kapinga. “I’m not much of a talker because talk is cheap. All I’m focused on is to start training and working my way back to playing the game I love.”

THE CLUB HAS ALSO BID FAREWELL TO A HANDFUL OF PLAYERS

Meanwhile, as Pirates have welcomed some players into the team ranks, they have also bid farewell to others.

The Soweto side has confirmed the departures of Terrence Dzvukamanja, Ntsako Makhubela, Craig Martin, Nkanyiso Zungu, Kopano Thuntsane and Ndumiso Mabena.
