Outside South Africa: Four players coming to Kaizer Chiefs?

The pressure is burning hot. Kaizer Chiefs need to sign a couple of quality attacking players. Here’s a list of reported targets.

Kaizer Chiefs need some quality upfront, otherwise Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates will keep getting away from Amakhosi.

KAIZER CHIEFS LINKED WITH FOUR PLAYERS FROM ABROAD

The local player market can only offer you so much, sometimes you have to search beyond borders. Kaizer Chiefs are linked with four players who have been playing their football overseas.

According to recent reports, the list includes three Bafana Bafana internationals and one Congolese striker that plays in Zambia.

  • Percy Tau, 30, Forward
  • Lebo Mothiba, 28, Striker
  • Andy Boyeli, 22, Striker.

REPORTS

As per recent reports, Tau is not yet keen to sign a new deal with Egytian gaints Al Ahly. According to the Citizen, the Witbank-born star is willing to move to Naturena if Amakhosi snatch Pitso Mosimane.

“Bafana Bafana star Percy Tau is said to be keen to join Kaizer Chiefs should the club hire Pitso Mosimane as their new head coach.

“Now reports coming out of Egypt are that Tau could consider a move back to South Africa and join Chiefs, provided that Mosimane will be in charge of the Glamour Boys next season.

“Tau’s future has been a subject of speculation in recent months with the Bafana Bafana star’s contract with Al-Ahly set to expire in June,” the report added.

LUTHER SINGH

Singh, has been a free agent since January after leaving Čukarički in Serbia. Soccer Laduma say the Soweto-born star has already begun talks with Kaizer Chiefs officials.

ANDY BOYELI

Boyeli is reportedly chased by both Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs. The Congolese striker scored 17 goals for Power Dynamos in Zambia this season, while also delivering 18 goals in the 2022/23 term.

“Kaizer Chiefs are closing in on the signing of Congolese striker Andy Boyeli from Power Dynamos,” the Rwandan reporter Eric Ndagijimana said via X.

“Chiefs are said to have moved ahead of rivals Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns to sign Boyeli at the current end of the season. Boyeli has missed Power’s last two fixtures to fuel rumours of his potential exit from the club.

“His contract at Power runs up to June, 2025,” added Ndagijimana.

LEBO MOTHIBA

Lastly, Bafana Bafana striker Mothiba is leaving French side Strasbourg after a six-year spell. The club has decided not to renew his expiring contract.

“After six years plying his trade for French Ligue 1 outfit RC Strasbourg, Bafana Bafana striker Lebogang Mothiba has left the club, with his current contract set to expire on June 30,” iDiski Times reported.
